China is Official.

PLANS ARE OFFICIAL!

I can't express myself very well in writing in this instance ... let me just say WOOOHOOOO!!

I got a call on Sunday night at 2 a.m. from Echo Ying in the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education. At first, I was pissed because this lady can never seem to subtract time right to figure out Fort Collins local time. Buuut she had good news for me!

The good news was that a new summer program in Huai'an was approved and they need 3 foreign teachers to attend. And more good news was that I'm officially accepted to Jiangsu University for my fall contract! So I confirmed my employment for the summer program, I confirmed my employment for the Jiangsu University contract (Sept. 1 2007 - June 30 2008), and things are SET.

I have an airline ticket from San Francisco to Shanghai on July 5th. I'm going to San Fran a few days earlier than that to see London John (who moved to San Fran with his wife at Christmas).

Boxx - if you want to meet up, let me know!! It would be great to meet you in person. You're my only REAL online friend (i.e., friend online who I know a lot about but who I've never met in real life). Anyway, I promise I'm not a murderer or some old man creeper ... I'm who I say I am! :)

Sooo July 5th, San Fran to Shanghai. Echo is picking me up at the Pudong airport and we're traveling to Nanjing. I'll have a few days to tour Nanjing and be oriented before I head up to Huai'an for my summer camp. I'll be at the summer camp from July 9 - July 28. Then I'll head back to Nanjing for debriefing. I'll have a month off before I can move into my one-bedroom apartment in Zhenjiang. I'll either have a home-stay family to live with or a month of traveling / hoteling it up on my own!

Once I move into my place in Zhenjiang, I'll start teaching University-level courses in conversational English (and potentially American literature?? I'm not sure which courses I'll have yet!)

Anyway, I'm pumped. Finally I have a time-scale for everything. I turned in my resignation letter at work today and almost made a few people cry. Buuut ... guess what bitches! I'm moving to China!

(Maybe I'll make a new blog, nateinchina.diaryland.com or something ... a blog I don't mind sharing with my fam so they can keep up with my life.)

Let's see ... in other news, ... Thursday I went to the orchestra with Dan. Friday night, I ... did something?? I don't remember. Saturday in the afternoon, Megan D invited me to see 300 with her, it was an awesome movie! Then on Saturday night, people came over for board game night. Sunday, I cleaned my apartment, played video games, and Lila came over to watch MIB with me. She gave me a goooood fucking backrub. She's lucky I didn't fall asleep in her arms.

Then I tried to stay up all night because I didn't have to work Monday. Instead, I got my call from Echo around 2 a.m. and ended up going to bed around 3:00. Monday, I fucked around all day.

Kirsten called me - we're going to Chinese Mike's play, 33 Swoons, tomorrow night.

Ummm... that's all! Life is grand. :) I have two sweet ass jobs lined up in China and I have my airline ticket. On top of all that, I'll get to spend time with John and maybe Boxx! I'll just go ahead and say it once more ... WOOOHOOO!
