Another Girl Entry, Her Name is Kim

Finally some time to write about last night! I worked this morning at 8 and had a ton of things to do, then I drove Dan down to DIA. Now I have his car for a week and nothing to do all evening.

Well, my date went great! We started by hitting up El Burrito for some burritos (what else?)! We talked all through dinner and Kim's really interesting! Plus she let me ramble on about nerdy stuff (iPhone, $100 laptop project, etc.) and seemed genuinely interested, soo I was excited to just be myself around her.

She said she was nervous, but she didn't know if it was to be around me or to go to her office party. (I'm guessing both? Although who could be nervous around me?? I'm pretty easy-going, I think.)

The party was fun although I didn't know anybody but Kim... luckily she didn't just run off with her work friends and leave me at some table by myself, I hate when that happens! She stayed with me all night (she had to, I was following her like a dog!) and we pretty much kept talking more and more.

I feel like I got to know her a lot better between dinner and the party. She's genuinely sweet! And I don't mean "sweet" like most girls who can be sweet but who are secretly raging bitches... I mean, genuinely sweet!

She speaks very femininely... I don't know how to describe it, but she forms her words very well and says them delicately... it's not all jumbled together like when I try to talk... :) She also looked gorgeous, but by the end of the night, that was just an added perk, not the whole package.

OK, enough "gushing"... back to the chronological order of events! After the party, we came back to my house to watch a movie, "Heart and Souls". We got about 20 minutes into the movie when she kiiiiissed me! Needless to say, we kind of missed the rest of the movie.

Wow ... I really like her! Usually when I get to this point of "knowing somebody," I can tell if we'll end up either a) not calling each other much anymore, b) fooling around but not really falling for each other, or c) really, genuinely liking each other. I'm pretty sure we're aiming for c) here.

Buuut there's always China to worry about... I'm trying to not fall for somebody before I move away. Ah well, that's still 6-ish months away, and I've only spent time alone with Kim twice (and five times total)! I'm obviously over-analyzing things, so I think my best bet is to go with the flow and see what happens before I get all worried about things.

So I got to sleep around 2:30 a.m. and got up at 7 for work. I was kind of a zombie, but I had a lot of projects to work on. I got a surprisingly huge amount of stuff done, then Dan picked me up at noon. He bought me some La Luz for lunch.

We talked about parallel consciousness for the whole drive... like, if they could replicate your brain in a computer exactly, the computer would be consciously YOU... but you would still exist! So there would be two of you. This would be interesting for immortality, you could always exist beyond an aging body... buuut technically, the new consciousness isn't ME, it's just a clone (like a snapshot) of me at an exact moment who then parts and experiences its own senses and ideas. Anyway, weird ideas!

I would totally clone a million robot Nathans and have an army to take over the world. They would all be dedicated to the cause and they wouldn't be afraid of death! :)

Ok, I think I'm going to take a nap. I've had a lot of naps this week! I just wanted to write about my hot date last night while it was still fresh in my mind. Ah man... all that talk about how cool Kim is, but right now all I can think about is making out with her on my futon. Something about her body temperature, how she smells, how soft her skin is ... aarrgh, it can bring out the animal side of me! Isn't being alive fun?!
