The second annual Art and Science Exhibition

I worked until 9:30 last night. I worked my normal hours to 4:00, then I went to the ballroom where our art show is going to be. I accepted art pieces until 7:00, then we started setting up the show. It's not a BIG show (about 75 pieces total) but it still took a long time to set up. Finally we finished with everything and it looks great!

The catered reception is tonight at 7:00. Food and prizes and hopefully a few hundred people will be there! They ordered catering for 250 ... I'm actually going to be surprised if more than 150 people show up ... we had about 55 pieces in last year's show and that attracted around 100 people.

I guess since I'm not artistic at all, this is how I contribute to the well-being of our culture ... I help organize and run the art shows! :) I was complaining about not being artistic the other day, and my boss was like, "Are you serious?! Look at the websites you build, you're very artistic!" I guess I never thought of web design as "art," even though there is a lot of graphic design and photography that I work on.

Ah well, it's not like I have a studio or an easel, I'm sitting at a desk with a PC and an iMac, and occasionally I run around campus and snap pictures of students, classes, and laboratories. Fun stuff!

Now that I think of it, I should have built an image site map for the art show! That's something uniquely artistic and scientific, right??

(That's the name of our show ... the Art and Science Exhibition... it showcases art that is inspired by science, or images produced in scientific research that is inherently artistic.)

I took over the world this morning on Rise of Nations. The single-player version of the game takes a really long time to play through (about one hour per battle, somewhere between 25 - 30 battles), but I love it!

Jim took me to lunch today since I beat him at the NCAA Bracket guessing game. Woohoo!
